Sonic is on the Egg carrier, the one he thought he destroyed a long time ago. He’s just escaped the sky deck and noticed Amy was in trouble, Tails loyal as ever follows but it’s no good they’re too late, just like last time.

"No we’re too late. Wait haven’t I done this before", Said Sonic

"Sonic!" Shouted Amy. Eggman takes the bird from Amy, "No not the birdie"

"Get away all of you, this is all I need", Said Eggman

"That’s a chaos emerald!" said Tails.

"It’s been fun but I’ve got to feed Chaos. Gamma!" Shouted Eggman

"How may I serve you Dr. Robotnik?" asked the red robot E-102 Gamma.

"Exterminate these pests, I’m counting on you Gamma, don’t let me down", replied Eggman

"As you wish", Said Gamma.

Sonic and Gamma fight again, and funnily enough it ended the same way. Sonic and Gamma ready to finish each other of with the final blow. Sonic pants heavily, it’s the only time a robot has lasted that long, well since the first fight of course.

"I know how this ends", Sonic said as he looks over and sees Tails and Amy dead from Gamma’s gun. He looks back at the robot and Gamma’s gun is pointed directly at his head.

"Exterminate Sonic the Hedgehog", Said Gamma.

And with that Sonic awoke Screaming; it was all a dream, no wait a nightmare. Sonic knows that E-102 Gamma was the only one of Eggman’s robots he couldn’t handle. And if Amy didn’t break up that fight, he might have died. Amy burst through the door in her nightgown holding her hammer, ready to smack any intruders.

"Leave my boyfriend alone, whoever you are", Said Amy, "I’ve got a hammer and I’m not afraid to use it".

"Calm down Amy, I just had a nightmare, and I’m not your boyfriend", said Sonic gasping for breath. Tails entered the room.

"Not the Gamma dream again Sonic", Said Amy

"This is starting to worry me, that’s the tenth night in a row you’ve had that dream. Maybe it’s a sign", said Tails

"Do be so paranoid Tails, that robot was kind and gentle, something about him made him stand out", Said Amy

"And besides we know Gamma was a flicky inside, we even have the robot shell here in my workshop*", Said Tails (*see family of metal)

"A robot almost beat me Tails, you know what that means, Eggman is getting close. One day he’ll build a robot that I can’t defeat", Said Sonic

"Again with the paranoia, you’ve beaten Scrap brain, the death egg twice, Chaos and the Biolizard. There’s nothing you can’t handle. Now go back to sleep, who knows how long it will be before Eggman strikes again? It could be tomorrow, that’s why we all need to be well rested", Said Amy

"Maybe you’re right, maybe I am over-reacting", said Sonic

"Of course you are, well goodnight", Said Tails after a big yawn.

"Goodnight", Said Amy.

"Goodnight", Said Sonic, as they all went back to their beds.

Meanwhile, as usual Knuckles is guarding the Master Emerald, lightly sleeping but ever aware of trespassers. Suddenly there was a noise in the nearby bushes, what was that? The wind? He goes over to investigate,

"Who’s that? Show yourself. If you want the Master Emerald you’ll have to go through me", Shouted Knuckles fists ready, "I’m not joking… ‘Sigh’ must’ve been the wind again"

Just then a shadow appeared over Knuckles

"What the…?" said Knuckles, "AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!" Knuckles’ scream was loud but not loud enough. A Maniacally yet robotic laugh howled through the night air, as Angel Island fell once again into the ocean.

Morning broke and as soon as our heroes got up they heard the news.

"Knuckles!" Said Tails and Amy, Sonic had already gone. A blue streak ran along the path to Angel Island. He reached the Island closely followed by Tails in the tornado.

"You’ve could’ve waited for us you know", Said Amy.

"Knuckles! Are you alright?" Shouted Tails begging for a response.

"The Master Emerald, Knuckles, they’re gone", Said Sonic, "EGGMAN!"

Tails noticed some tyre tracks on the ground.

"Hey guys come look at this", Said Tails

"What is it?" Asked Amy

"Tyre tracks, But the width is too small for a car, or anything with a motor. I don’t think Eggman would steal the Master Emerald using a bike", Said Tails

"It’s probably another robot. Anyway we should find Eggman, I know he’ll be the cause of all this", said Sonic.

"But where to start? Eggman could be anywhere", said Amy

"Why not wait until it comes for us?" Said Tails, "If it is a new robot it’ll probably come after us and our chaos emerald"

"So back to the workshop then", Said sonic rushing of.

"But we should stick togeth…. Sonic!" Said Tails starting up the tornado, "Always so impatient"

Back at Tails’ workshop, Sonic stood by the door tapping him foot with impatience.

"Er, what took you so long?" said Sonic. Tails put the Tornado pack inside the workshop; he opened the door for Sonic and Amy. Sonic lay next to the TV and turned it on. Amy sat down beside him, edging closer and closer.

"Amy do you mind?" asked Sonic. Amy backed off a little. The news was on the TV.

"Tails you should come see this", Said Sonic.

Tails checked the Phone line. Sonic Jumped up and turned to Tails.

"She’s right our phone line is down, All communications between our friends and ourselves are down", Said Tails

"Someone must’ve cut the line. But why?" Asked Sonic

"Isn’t it obvious, whatever’s out there kidnapped Knuckles it’ll come after us", Said Amy

"But it went after Eggman, Why would a Robot probably built by Eggman go after its creator?" asked Sonic puzzled

"Who cares, whatever it is its kidnapping people and we have no way of contacting the city or anyone. That means we’re next", Said Amy with a hint of paranoia

"Amy calm down, nothing bad is going to happen as long as Sonic’s around", said Tails, "Isn’t that right Sonic". There was a long silence as Tails and Amy expected a reply

"SONIC! WHERE DID YOU GO?" Shouted Tails.

"(Gasp) what if that thing got him?" Asked Amy in a panic. Suddenly there was a loud robotic maniacal laugh, both of them looked out the window and over to the nearby Cliffside.

It was a Robot no doubt about that, but its frame was like Gamma’s, the Robot that almost killed Sonic, the Robot that haunts Sonic’s dreams. It was carrying a knocked out Sonic over his shoulder.

"Where are you going with sonic?" Shouted Tails.

"Don’t worry you’re next", Said the Robot.

"Who are you?" Asked Amy

"Lets just say I’m a Robot back from the Dead", Replied the Robot. Sparks could be heard as he talked as if it was malfunctioning. Could it be Gamma?

"No way!" said Amy, "Gamma was a kind caring robot"

"Oh I'm not Gamma", said the robot.

"Then who are you?" asked Tails.

"You'll find out soon enough", said the Robot and with that he disappeared into the darkness.

Amy and Tails went back inside the workshop. Amy shook with fear, Tails seemed calmer but his eyes had a glint of terror.

"What are we going to do?" screamed Amy

"Calm down, here put this somewhere?" Said Tails handing her a small button.

"What is it?" asked Amy

"It's a tracker, it didn't kill Sonic so it must be taking him back to his base", said Tails

"So?" asked Amy, "In case you haven't noticed there's a zombie robot after us"

"We know he has a base, so when he takes his next victim the other can use the tracker to find his base and rescue us all. All you have to do is turn this computer on", said Tails handing over a small handheld computer.

"Oh so you do have a plan", said Amy with a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, all we can do now is wait", Said Tails, "Try and get a good nights sleep, and remember even if you are kidnapped I'll be able to find you"

"Ok, see ya tomorrow", Said Amy.

"Goodnight", Said Tails. And with that the two remaining heroes slept soundly.

The next morning only Amy was left, surprisingly upbeat. She turned on the computer expecting to see some sign of where Tails was. But as that screen showed nothing Amy screamed. She began to sweat nervously, she hit the handheld computer harder and harder.

"Work god damn you work!" said Amy, "I need to find where Tails and the others are, WORK you STUPID PIECE OF….". Amy's speech was broken by the sounds of sparks. Amy grabbed her hammer tight, "Show yourself you waste of space".

"Oh don’t be like that Amy Rose. You friends Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles Tails Prower are perfectly safe. But then as soon as I have you the real fun will begin", said the Robot in the distance. Amy shook the computer like mad.

"Come on I need you to work", said Amy

"Oh the tracer! Did you honestly thought I wouldn’t notice a little thing like that?" asked the Robot, "Enough mind games. Time to join the others".

Amy started swinging her hammer left, right and centre.

"You won't take me so easily", Said Amy.

"Don't be so sure", said the Robot as a strange gas filled the room. Amy started coughing and eventually collapsed. That familiar yet eerie robotic laugh was the last thing she heard.

Amy re-awoke surrounded by familiar faces. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Eggman stood surrounding her.

"Great you're awake", said Knuckles

"Why didn't you use the computer to find us?" asked Tails

"It wouldn't work, that robot destroyed the transmitter. I'm glad to see you're all safe", Said Amy

"Alright Eggman, we want answers. Where are we and who is that Robot?" asked Sonic, "You said you'd tell us when everyone was awake"

"We are in a mansion hidden on the outskirts of Green hill. It was designed to be another secret lab. Each room is filled with traps, except this one", said Eggman.

"But what about the Robot?" asked Sonic

"Oh so the good doctor has told you my story has he", Said a voice sounding like the Robot

"Alpha, I don't know how you were reactivated but you're still damaged and incomplete", Said Eggman

"I know Dr. Robotnik, In your eyes I was in complete, but I see myself more deadly than ever. (Sparks are heard)…I….hhhhave done what yooyooyou could not, I have captured Sonic the Hedgehog"

"Why did you turn against your master anyway?" asked Amy

"Do you know what it feels like to be de-activatedted, It's not very ninininice", Said Alpha.

"Yeah ok! So why us then? If your beef is with Eggman why not join us. We can help you, and you can help us finally stop him", Asked Tails

"In case you haven't noticed I'm a machine. Do you know what it's like to be programmed? It's like having a tiny voice inside your head telling you what to do. All I've heard since the day I was created is to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends, Miles Tails Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose. The only way I could get that out my head is to actually destroy you", Said Alpha

"Or yourself, or be re-programmed, I'm sure tails can do the latter", Said Sonic

"Erm no! You see when I programmed Alpha I gave him a virus to seriously destroyed all computers which tried to mess with his program. And to make matters worse Alpha was given a rather nasty bomb, so if he's destroyed anything in a 50 mile radius would also be destroyed", Said Eggman

"That would wipe out all of Green hills", Said Tails. Since Eggman's first plan was foiled by Sonic, green hill has become full of animals and included a country style hotel, which was always popular. Not to mention this was Sonic's home.

"So what are we going to do?" asked Knuckles

"Maybe we could lure him away to the ocean. But first we have to get out of this mansion", said Tails

"You do that, I'm going after the Master Emerald. I can feel it to the north of the building", Said Knuckles

"Good luck, We'll go after Alpha. Eggman you built this mansion, what's the best way to get out?" asked Sonic

"South, but even if I could remember how I built this mansion, Alpha could've changed the traps round. Getting out is not going to be easy.

"Damn there's some kind of jamming signal being produced so I can't call the tornado", Said Tails

"I see, so we have no help whatsoever. Good, I like a challenge", Said Sonic.

"The quickest way is through that door", said Eggman

"Let's go then, Knuckles we'll see you at the other side", Said Sonic

The two teams split up, Sonic's group headed into the next room. There was numerous tiles on the floor, each with their own letters and looked something like this

"Ok, any thoughts Eggman?" asked Sonic

"There's a door at the other side and the tiles on the floor spell out the password to get to the door safely. Step on a wrong tile or step on the tiles in the wrong order and some devious traps will occur, including spikes and flames coming from the ground and sides", Said Eggman, "Now if only I could remember the password, one more thing no two tiles are on the same row and each row is used"

"I can see Maria in the far left", Said Amy

"But there is an S in the way", said Tails, "I could fly us all over to the other side without hitting the floor"

"Too risky", Said Sonic, "Besides the password is Gerald. Look…

"Hey you're right", Said Eggman, "How could I forget about that?"

"Well done, but that was fairly easy", said Alpha over speakers, "Don't expect them all to be that easy"

In the next room our heroes nothing but a big hole in the floor, and a load of hooks hanging from the roof. Some were red, some were green, some were blue.

"Eggman?" asked Sonic

"Red hooks fall off after one-person hangs of it, Green after 2 people, blue after 3. The silver ones won't fall and we have to get from one to the other.", Said Eggman. The room looked like this.

"I like it, challenges both mind and body", Said Sonic

"Pity the floors too low, otherwise I would've flown you across", Said Tails

"Well it may be no problem for you two but I ain't in physical shape", Said Eggman

"Well we have to get across somehow", Said Amy. Our heroes got across after some real thought.

The next room was full of doors, with numbers on top. As soon as all four were in the roof started to fall. Sonic ran to door 5.

"Sonic wait! All of the doors are booby trapped except one", said Eggman

"Oh right", said Sonic, "which door is the right one then?"

"Look there are two numbers here, one is nine and one is whoa! That's a big number", Said Amy

"817263543 divided by 9. Easy chose door 3", Said Eggman

"That's not equal to 3!" asked Tails

"No but it's remainder is", Said Eggman

"How do you know….? We have no choice but to trust him, come on", Said Sonic. The four escaped that room.

"So how exactly did you work that out?" asked Tails

(Select space after figuring it out) "Simple, cast out nines. You delete all the numbers that add up to nine, 8+1 = 9, 7+2= 9, etc. then whatever number you have left is the remainder", Said Eggman, "This is the final room".

The room was completely dark, but you could here something drop from the ceiling.

"Now I remember, we have to get to the other side, but there are numerous weights dropping from the ceiling", Said Eggman

"No problem", Said Sonic picking up Tails, "I'll be back for you two". Everything was silent and then there was one big thud, and another big silence before another thud. Straight afterward Sonic ran to the other side. Another thud and he ran back picked up Amy and again waited for the next thud. After a while.

"Sonic, are you forgetting about someone?" shouted Eggman, "Sonic?" There was a fairly long silence, and then suddenly Eggman was lifted into the air.

"Oh thank you Sonic", said Eggman, he turned round to talk to Sonic, "I thought for a minute that you had…. Wait a minute, you're not Sonic".

The lights went on to reveal Alpha was holding Eggman high into the air. He then threw Eggman across the room, by now the weights had stopped falling, Tails and Amy looked over, Sonic stopped dead in his tracks.

"Oh so near and yet so far", Said Alpha.

While Sonic's team were battling through those rooms. Knuckles had reached the control room, where Alpha had been hiding.

"Damn it, How can they get through all those traps so easily", Said Alpha, while knuckles crept behind him toward the Master Emerald, "Well, they won't escape I'll make sure of that"

"Well Lets see, Eggman is smarter than you, Sonic is faster, Tails is more agile and Amy is very resourceful", Said Knuckles, comfortably holding the Master Emerald in his hands.

"And what pray tell are you then?" asked Alpha

"I'm stronger than you," said Knuckles, "But even I'm not stupid enough to fight someone who has a very powerful bomb in him"

"I see, but you know I can't let you or them leave. So just put the Emerald back and get into the chains like a good echidna", said Alpha

"Why do you want the Emerald anyway?" asked Knuckles

"Well not only was I programmed to destroy Sonic, I was also programmed to desssssstroy Station square. And as you probably know Aaaaaaaangel Island will be directly over Staaaaaaaation Square in a couple of hours, and you should also know that the sisisisize of Angel Island will crush Station square and a great deal of the land around it. This machine acts like the shshshshrine, I rererere-raised the Island and lost an hour. No big deal. And If I can raise it I can surely make it fffffffall", said Alpha, "Well get in the chains, I can shoot you, you can't hurt me and I can lock the room up so you can't rrrrrrrrrrun."

"I guess I have no choice", said Knuckles. Like Chains can really hold me.

"Damn it they're at the door. I'll be back to sort yyyyyyou out later", Said Alpha, leaving through the door. As he left Knuckles started absorbing energy around him, his body got hotter and hotter. He started to sweat as the chains began to melt. By using his Maximum heat technique he escaped, but he fell to the floor.

"I hate using that", said Knuckles, "Now how do I use this thing". Knuckles went over to the computer.

Back to our heroes, Sonic froze still. What am I going to do? I can't attack him, and even if I could I don't think I can beat him. He was built like Gamma but he's completely insane. Alpha threw Eggman towards Tails and Amy, Eggman smashed into them and they all fell on the floor, Eggman being on top.

"God man, will you ever lose some weight", Said Tails.

"Ew! Yuck! Get off!" said Amy. Alpha started rolling towards sonic, sparking. Sonic didn't move. Eggman got off Tails and Amy, rubbing his head.

"Ow! That really hurt", Said Eggman

"Sonic what are you doing? Get out of the way, run away!", Shouted Tails. Sonic still stood there frozen. Tails ran off and dived on Sonic.

"Wake up Sonic! This is no time for a snooze cruise", Said Tails

"Sorry, I'm just…" said Sonic. And before he could finish Alpha had his gun aimed directly at his head.

"Mission complete", said Alpha. Suddenly there was a large explosion and as Alpha turned round to see what it was Sonic escaped. The door slam and that familiar robotic laugh turned into an angry moan. Sonic, Tails and Amy made it outside the building, Eggman had disappeared.

"Where did Eggman go?" asked Amy

"Doesn't matter now, we have to stop Alpha, I'm lure him away, Tails you take Amy back to the shop and get the cyclone. It's up to you to shoot him while I distract him", said Sonic.

"Right, see you later then, and Sonic be careful", said Tails. Tails and Amy ran off, as Alpha burst open the front door.

"yyyyou wowon't geettttttt awwway", Said Alpha.

"Hey you pathetic prototype, over here. That's right prototype, you were never good enough to be a part of the real E-series", Shouted Sonic, "Bet you can't catch me".

"Atatat leasssssst IIIIII will be able to dooooo what the real E-series couldn't doo, destroy Sonnnnnnic", Said Alpha. Sonic led Alpha toward the ocean. I just hope I can do this.

Meanwhile Knuckles was running closer and closer toward Angel Island. Angel Island was about to crush some of Station Square so time was running out. Knuckles reached the shrine and placed the Master Emerald in the shrine, just as the bottom of the island touched the roof of the hotel. Knuckles wiped the sweat of his forehead and took a well-deserved rest.

Sonic had reached the coast, Alpha soon followed him.

"Where's Tails?" asked Sonic under his breath.

"I'm going to desssstroy you", shouted Alpha. Sonic ran circles around Alpha, "Slow down so I can destroy you"

Sonic kept running and Alpha started firing like mad. One of them is bound to hit me, I don't know how long I can keep this up. A few seconds later Tails arrived in the cyclone.

"Sonic get out of there!" shouted Tails firing the cyclone's laser at Alpha. Sonic ran away and Tails flew off after a couple more laser shots.

"Ah the sweet release of death", said Alpha falling to the ground.

Meanwhile at Tails' workshop Amy looked over to where Sonic and Alpha were fighting. There was a huge explosion, Amy started to worry.

"Sonic! Tails!" Said Amy, "No!". Amy started to cry, "I'll never forget you Sonic"

"Aw! That's sweet! But you should know nothing can beat me", said Sonic putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Sonic you made it!" said Amy hugging him

"We did it sonic", Said Tails from above

"Awesome job Tails", said Sonic

After a huge celebration, our heroes slept soundly especially Sonic whose nightmares had stopped. He had but all doubts to rest, maybe Gamma was special and they knew he was on their side. But one thing still haunts him some nights, knowing one-day Eggman will build him a robot, which he couldn't destroy. Nah! That will never happen, but what a way to spend Halloween….
